About Jean:

I am a native speaker of French; therefore, my students are exposed to Parisian French. I am certified to teach grades 7-12 French in NY. Also, I have been teaching in new york City public schools for six years. Prior to getting my certification in French, I taught high school ESL for one year as I speak English fluently. Through WyzAnt, I am certified to tutor French, English, ESL and Grammar. It is important to mention that my tutoring sessions are designed to allow students to discover their own learning styles and such discovery is through conversational practices, grammar and writing.

Recently, I completed an M.S in Special Education, grades 5-9. In that capacity, I work with students who are severely learning disabled. I help them overcome difficulties with complex tasks. I break items into trunks as a modification technique to help learning disabled children meet their educational goals. This year, through tutoring sessions I helped numerous third and fourth graders pass the NYS ELA exam. Lastly, I set high expectations for every student that I work with using patience and determination in helping them achieve.
